HNLC warned of military actions against harijan colony

SHILLONG: The HNLC has viewed the recent deadline given by the Harijan panchayat to the Shillong Municipal and government sounded more like a warning signal. This issue has been cropping up for the last three decades and we have not seen any solution so far. The government should not soften its stance, as this kind of warning is a warning to the ‘Jaidbynriew’.

According to the HNLC, the Harijan colony as everyone knows, is a den and full of criminals drug addicts thieves etc. No lady dare pass that way especially in the evenings. It looks like a ghetto, that is occupied by illegal settlers. 70% of the people at Them Metor are illegal settlers. They are not even the employee of the municipal board.

So the rights to stay there does not arise at all. They have given away the houses at rent to many people from outside the state and are enjoying exorbitant rent. The offspring of Harijan colony are all spoiled children. Having lavish lifestyles, cars, drinking and enjoying. They are not at all oppressed, like they had always portrayed.

The HNLC said that the panchayat should remember that” we had eliminated Lal Singh years back at the heart of the city because of his character and his crimes”.

The Government of Meghalaya should not pay any heed to the deadline, but it should immediately take action and identify the genuine and the illegal Settlers. When the GOM had identified the land to relocate the people then what is their problem. This is not their land. They should be thankful that our people are patient. The interference of the Punjab govt and its politicians time and again should not be entertained.

The HNLC said ,”We cannot claim their land in Punjab and they do not have the right to stake claims over our land.”

This is a serious matter, and the CM should take action to bring a solution. If the Harijan panchayat committee still challenges then we shall have to resort to other means for a solution. They may remain under the protection of security forces in shillong. But they should not forget that their community is present in Khasi and Jaintia hills. If they provoke, we will be compelled attack their community without fail. Then the Harijan panchayat committee will shoulder the responsibility if any lives are lost . They do not have any respect over the people of the state nor the government of Meghalaya. Simply threatening to go to the court, they are trying to bring in communal hatred and tension.

The HNLC will repeat history again, there will be many more lals in the Harijan community. We have the support of our people and we don’t mind taking military action. This is not only a warning, when it comes to protect the interests of the people, they shall press the trigger and their people will fall to our bullets.
