10.16 kgs of Crystal Meth seized in Kongong, East Jaintia Hills

East Jaintia Hills Police arrested one person involved in interstate drug trafficking in Kongong, under Khliehriat Police Station on Sunday.

The arrested person was identified as Lalhmunsanga Beingaichho from Siaha District, Mizoram.

Acting on credible information, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) team set up a naka at Kongong and intercepted a Tata Sumo with registration number AS 01 KC 9188, suspecting it was carrying illegal contraband.

During the search of the vehicle found ten black packets in a suitcase. Subsequent testing confirmed that the contraband substance was Crystal Meth (mescaline), with a total weight of 10.16 kilograms.

A case under the NDPS Act has been registered at the Khliehriat Police Station, and investigations are underway to trace both backward and forward linkages.
