12 year old girl’s body found in West Garo Hills, Police investigation on

The dead body of a 12-13 years old girl was recovered on 01.08.2023 from Jangrapara village under Phulbari Police Station, West Garo Hills, Meghalaya.

Accordingly, inquest and post-mortem examination of the dead body has already been conducted and a case has been registered under Tura Women PS Case No. 58(08)2023 U/s 302/376A IPC R/W Sec. 5/6 of POCSO Act.

Police said the investigation is going on and no arrest has been made yet. The Investigating Officer meticulously conducting the investigation and there are strong clues about the suspect involved in this heinous offence.

In the interest of the investigation and as a mark of respect to the departed soul, the identity of the deceased is not being revealed. All concerned are requested not to spread any kind of rumour or speculations on social media.
