146 new COVID-19 cases detected in Meghalaya
146 more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, taking the active cases to 1,238 in the state.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the new cases include 115 in East Khasi Hills district, 20 in Ri Bhoi district, 4 each in West Jaintia Hills district and West Garo Hills district and 3 in East Jaintia Hills district.
He said three cases have migrated from West Jaintia Hills to West Bengal.
Dr War informed as many as 38 patients have also recovered from the viral infection of which 34 are from East Khasi Hills district and 4 from East Jaintia Hills district.
So far, the state has detected a total of 15,631 COVID-19 cases out of which 1,238 are active cases, 14,236 recovered and 157 deaths.
East Khasi Hills is the worst affected district in the state with 894 active cases followed by West Jaintia Hills with 132 cases and Ri Bhoi district with 117 cases.
There are 32 cases in East Jaintia Hills, 28 in West Khasi Hills, 22 in West Garo Hills, 10 in South West Khasi Hills, 1 in South Garo Hills, 1 in East Garo Hills, and 1 in North Garo Hills.
On the other hand, of the 4,45,913 persons who have tested for COVID-19 in the state as on date, 4,30,282 were tested negative for the virus even as 222 persons are in institutional quarantine and 1,016 under home quarantine.
There are 1,09,764 entrants from outside the state.
