1867 voters voted for NOTA with Jowai North Constituency as the highest numbers & 94 rejected votes in JHADC’s Election
A total of one thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven or 1867 voters voted for the none of the above (NOTA) rather than any of the candidates while 94 postal ballots were casted as rejected votes in the general election of the twenty-nine constituencies of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) out of the 2,71,546 votes polled.
The general election to the JHADC was held on the 21st of this month while the counting of votes was held on the 24 of this month and the counting was held in three different locations namely office of the SDO (Civil), Amlarem, office of the DC, West Jaintia Hills District Jowai and office of the DC, East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat.
In War East Constituency, out of 10050 votes polled, there are 49 votes for NOTA and one rejected vote while in War Central Constituency, out of 7911 votes polled, 37 votes voted for NOTA and in War West Central Constituency, out of 9519 votes polled, there is one rejected vote and 50 NOTA votes.
Out of 10961 votes polled in Amwi Khliehtyrchi constituency, there are two rejected votes while 40 persons voted for NOTA and in Mukhla Ummulong constituency, out of 9739 votes polled, five votes are rejected while NOTA bagged 73 votes while in Moodymmai Nongkhroh constituency, out of 8103 votes polled, 20 went to NOTA.
In Nartiang Wahiajer Constituency, out of 8138 votes polled, there are 86 NOTA votes while in Moodop Umladang Constituency, out of 8485 votes polled, 67 people opted for NOTA and in Mynso Nongjngi Constituency, out of 9638 votes polled, there are two rejected votes and 71 NOTA votes.
Out of 9151 votes polled in Mynsngat Khanduli Constituency, there are 68 NOTA voters and two rejected votes while out of 8077 votes polled in Shiliang Myntang Constituency, 91 persons opted for NOTA and in Barato Mukroh Constituency, there are two rejected votes and 35 NOTA votes out of 8956 votes polled.
In Saphai Sahsniang Constituency, out of 10308 votes polled, there are 6 rejected votes and 59 NOTA votes, while in Mowkaiaw Constituency, out of 9337 votes polled, there are 43 rejected votes and in Raliang Constituency, 91 vote went for NOTA out of 8150 votes polled while in Shangpung Constituency, out of 8231 votes polled, there are four rejected votes and 91 NOTA votes.
Out of 10088 votes polled in Nangbah Mihmyntdu Constituency, there are 84 NOTA votes and six rejected votes while the highest number of NOTA vote stand recorded in Jowai North Constituency with 111 out 10013 votes polled and another 13 rejected votes and in Jowai South constituency, out of 10795 votes polled, seven are rejected and 104 votes for NOTA.
In Muthlong Sohkymphor constituency, out of 12440 votes polled, there is one rejected vote and 98 NOTA while in Tuber Wapungshnong constituency, out of 9004 votes polled, seven votes are rejected while 49 votes went to NOTA and in Musniang Rangad constituency, out of 9624 votes polled, two votes are rejected and 50 votes is bagged by NOTA.
In Rymbai Khliehriat constituency, out of 12623 votes polled, six votes are rejected and 80 people voted for NOTA while in Sutnga Narwan constituency, out 9164 votes polled, there are three rejected vote and 68 NOTA votes and in Sutnga Nongkhlieh constituency, out of 8449 votes polled, 11 votes are rejected and 46 votes went to NOTA.
Out of 7645 votes polled in Sumer constituency, 94 people voted for NOTA while in Saipung Nongkhlieh constituency, out of 7527 votes polled, five votes are rejected while NOTA bagged 40 votes and in Narpuh constituency, out of 10882 votes polled, there are three rejected votes and 37 NOTA votes and in Bataw Lakadong constituency out of 8538 votes polled, NOTA bagged 35 votes.
