1st COVID case from Meghalaya police reported as State hits double centuries
The first positive COVID-19’s case from Meghalaya Police’s personnel was reported on Friday.
With this new development, the state of Meghalaya hits its double centuries within a span of forty eight hours where the total numbers of positive patients stand at 236, out of which 189 are positive, 45 are recovered and two deaths.
The Meghalaya police personnel is an armed branch constable posted in East Jaintia Hills District and he is presently undergoing treatment in Khliehriat.
The present numbers of COVID-19 in East Jaintia Hills District now rose to two with the first case being of the Branch Manager, State Bank of India, Khliehriat Branch.
There has been fresh positive cases of 70 personnels from the BSF while another five cases were reported from Khanapara, Ri Bhoi District connected to the elite wedding ceremony in Greenwood Resort.
Further, another 18 positive cases were tested from amongst the returnees from various states and also from NEIGRIHMS.
The break up of the total cases stand as 137 BSF personnels, two Indian Air Force personnels, 27 civilians all in East Khasi Hills District, six cases in West Garo Hills which included three BSF personnel, 20 in Ri Bhoi district and two cases in East Jaintia Hills.
