1st-ever Teachers’ Day function organized in Arunachal district
The first-ever Teachers’ Day was celebrated at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Yazali in Arunachal Pradesh’s newly-formed Keyi Panyor district on Thursday.
The programme was graced by Yachuli MLA Toko Tatung as the chief guest in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Shweta Nagarkoti Mehta. The function was organised by the Department of Education, Keyi Panyor district.
Remembering former President of India Dr S. Radhakrishnan on the occasion, Yachuli MLA Toko Tatung urged that teachers be given the due respect they deserve along with all the necessary basic amenities and good working conditions to encourage them to work dedicatedly without any distractions or discomfort.
He assured to improve the working conditions of teachers in Govt. schools by enhancing the existing infrastructures and facilities within the district, also announcing that he would be taking an extra initiative to give easier access of public utilities to the teaching faculty.
Similarly, he reminded teachers of their great responsibility towards nation-building.
On the occasion, all the teachers of government schools within the district were felicitated by the district administration for their tireless service. Water filters, PA system and table fans were jointly donated by various departments to Govt Middle School, C Sector Yazali as promised during a developmental tour in the area last week.
In the evening session, a panel discussion on improving educational infrastructure and quality education in the district by addressing low-enrolment schools and clubbing schools was held.
Notable attendees included ZPC Keyi Panyor Likha Sangchore, Pitapool ZPM Nabam Piju, Yazali ZPM Gem Aiti, Pistana ZPM Likha Tabo, Yachuli ZPM Joram Elyu, ADC Suraj Gurung, DDSE Kacho Jomoh, EAC Mumne Borang and Principal GHSS Yazali Hengam Ete Bagra. Around 400 teachers of the district along with students also attended the grand celebration.
