2 COVID-19 patients die in Meghalaya, death toll rises to 12
The COVID-19 death toll in Meghalaya has increased to 12, after two elderly patients have died due to the viral infection.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said Jagadish Prasad Shah (65) from Riat Laban was brought dead at Nazareth Hospital on Sunday at 10.45 pm.
“Sample taken and found to be positive for COVID-19,” he said.
Dr War informed that another 60-year-old person identified as Sunil Kumar Jain, a resident of Jhalupara, also passed away at the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (NEIGRHIMS) hospital around 7 pm on Monday. He was admitted on Sunday evening.
“The patient was COVID positive with co-morbidities,”he added.
