23 year man dies from electrocution while charging phone in Pamtadong Village

In a tragic incident, a 23-year-old man, identified as Tol Sana, lost his life due to electrocution while charging his mobile phone on Thursday evening.

The incident took place at Pamtadong Village, a few kilometres from Amlarem village.

Police said that on May 31, they received written information from the Assistant Executive Engineer of Amlarem Sub-Division that on May 30, 2024, at 6:00 PM, one person by the name of (L) Tol Sana (23 years old), son of Smti Bial Sana of Pamtadong Village, had lost his life due to electrocution while charging his mobile phone at his home in Pamtadong Village.

Police went to the spot to conduct an inquiry and observed all necessary formalities regarding the dead body.

Further, police informed that the relatives of the deceased did not want to proceed with any legal formalities as they believed that there was no foul play or suspicion involved. They stated that it was purely an accident.

They submitted a request to the Executive Magistrate for an exemption from a post-mortem examination. Accordingly, upon receiving the order, the body of (L) Tol Sana was handed over to his relatives for his last rites, police said.
