250 farmers trained on Production Technology
The Division of System Research & Engineering, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya with the logistic support of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, South Garo Hills, Chokpot conducted Awareness cum Training programme on “Production Technology including value addition of Fruits, Tuber, Vegetable, Flower, Plantation and Spice Crops for better income of Farmers” in Four (4) Aspirational Villages viz., Jetra, Maheshkola, Sawekolgre under South Garo Hills, and Langdongdai village, West Khasi Hills, Meghalaya from March 1 to 4, last.
During the programme, farmers were made aware and trained on Advanced Production technologies including value addition of Fruits, Tuber, Vegetable, Flower, Plantation and Spice Crops.
Around 250 farmers attended the programme and participated actively especially in the interactive sessions where they put up several questions pertaining to production, protection and value addition of horticulture Crops.
In the valedictory programme, Knapsack Sprayer, Water Can, Secateurs, Trovel, Vegetable & flower seeds, bio-pesticides such as Beauveria bassiana, Trichoderma viride, Metarhizium anisopliae, Entomopathogenic Nematodes (Soldiers) were distributed to all the trainees.
The programme was successfully organized by Dr. H.D. Talang (Scientist), Dr. V.K. Verma (Sr. Scientist), Dr. Vanlalruati (Scientist), Dr. M. Bilashini Devi (Scientist), Dr. H. Rymbai (Scientist), Dr. S.R. Assumi (Scientist) and Dr. S. Hazarika (Principal Scientist & Head).
