26 new COVID-19 cases detected in Meghalaya
Twenty-six more persons have tested positive for COVID-19, taking the tally of active cases in the state up to 193 on Monday.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the new cases include 7 in East Khasi Hills district and 19 in West Jaintia Hills district.
He informed as many as 23 patients have also recovered from the viral infection of which 21 are from East Khasi Hills district and 2 from West Khasi Hills district.
So far, the state has detected a total of 14,300 COVID-19 cases out of which 193 are active cases, 13,956 recovered and 151 deaths.
East Khasi Hills has 144 active cases, West Jaintia Hills 24, Ri Bhoi 14, West Garo Hills 6, East Jaintia Hills 4 and South West Khasi Hills 1.
On the other hand, of the 4,22,738 persons who have tested for COVID-19 in the state as on date, 4,08,438 were tested negative for the virus even as 62 persons are in institutional quarantine and 131 under home quarantine.
There are 1,02,262 entrants from outside the state.
On the other hand, 22, 582 healthcare workers had received the first dose of Covishield vaccine and 15, 872 had received the second dose, while 33,259 frontline workers got the first shot of the vaccine and 20,983 got the second dose as on Saturday.
Moreover,50,460 persons from among the general public were vaccinated with the first dose and 3,527 were inoculated with the second dose of the vaccine against COVID-19 across the State.
