276 cases settle for Rs 1.97 crore in National Lok Adalat

The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority has organised the National Lok Adalat on Saturday in all the districts of the State of Meghalaya, under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and under the Patronage of Justice Sanjib Banerjee, Chief Justice, High Court of Meghalaya and Patron-inChief of the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) and under the supervision of Justice HSThangkhiew, Judge, High Court of Meghalaya and Executive Chairman of the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority.

In the National Lok Adalat, 962 Pre-Litigation cases and 496 pending cases were taken up for settlement.

Total number of cases taken up were 1458, and of which 276 cases were settled for a total amount of 1,97,43,937.17 (Rupees One crore ninety seven lakhs forty three thousand nine hundred thirty seven and seventeen paise) only in the National Lok Adalat.
