29th Alcheringa 2025: Weaving the fabric of culture and creativity
The 29th edition of Alcheringa, the iconic annual cultural festival of IIT Guwahati, is set to take place from January 30 to February 2, 2025.
Known for its grand scale and vibrant atmosphere, the event promises a spectacular celebration of culture, and creativity.
From its modest beginnings, Alcheringa has grown into a cultural phenomenon, attracting over 1,40,000 attendees annually and garnering participation from more than 550 colleges across India. The festival is a hub for diverse artistic expressions, offering an array of activities that include electrifying rock performances, classical music shows, fashion extravaganzas, engaging quizzes and thrilling DJ dance floors.
Alcheringa has a legacy of hosting some of the biggest names in entertainment. Past editions have featured celebrated artists such as Bollywood icons like Armaan Malik, Vishal-Shekhar, Mika Singh, Mohit Chauhan, Amaal Mallik, international stars like Charles B, Israeli death metal band Orphaned Land, Swiss folk metal band Eluveitie, Irish bands Ciorras and Frantic Jack and classical legends like Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, KK, Javed Ali, Shaan, Sonu Nigam, and more,
The festival continues to draw global attention by presenting a mix of genres, bridging traditional and modern art forms.
Sulabh Napit, Head of Media and Outreach for Alcheringa 2025, shared the vision for this year’s edition, “This year’s festival will unite cultures and inspire creativity like never before. We aim to offer an unforgettable journey of artistic brilliance and cultural diversity.”
