2nd MLP Battalion in Tura declared containment zone

The District Magistrate, West Garo Hills, Ram Singh on Tuesday has declared 2nd MLP Battalion Goeragre as a containment zone after COVID-19 positive cases were detected.

The order restrict unregulated entry and exit movement in the affected areas which require aggressive contact tracing, quarantine, testing and isolation as well as containment in the interest of health of general public against possible spread of COVID-19.

“No persons/public shall be allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants within the containment areas shall not move out,” the order said.

West Garo Hills has total COVID-19 active cases: 174. Today 25 new cases
has been reported which include 19 from ISBT ( 2nd MLP, returnees and contacts), 1 from Tura Christian (Antigen), 3 from Tura Civil ( Antigen) and 2 from Tikrikilla PS ( Antigen, police staff contacts).
