3 arrested for smuggling ganja in West Jainta Hills

Three persons were arrested along with ganja at Phramer in West Jaintia Hills district on Thursday.

Acting on inputs, a naka checking was laid by the Phramer Traffic Cell police and a truck B/R No. AS 25 EC – 3411 was intercepted.

During the search, 37 packages of psychotropic substance suspected to be Ganja (wrapped with tight Cello tape) were recovered from the vehicle weighing approximately 422.15 Kg, district police chief Bikram Marak said.

All the three occupants along with the vehicle were detained for interrogation and later arrested and seized, he said.

In this regard, a cognizable case has been registered under the relevant sections of NDPS Act.
