3 kidnappers arrested, victim rescued in West Garo Hills

The state police on Monday arrested three members of a kidnapping gang and rescued the abducted victims in West Garo Hills district.

Assistant Inspector General of Police (A), Gabriel K Iangrai informed on Tuesday that after relentless efforts, the special investigation and rescue team constituted by the West Garo Hills SP has safely rescued the three victims from a thickly forested area under Magalpara-Kantanagre on Monday and in the process, also arrested 3 persons who were involved in the abduction.

He said the team was also able to recover one country made weapon and ammunition from the possession of the abductors.

A criminal case has been registered at Dadenggre police station under relevant provisions of law and investigation is in progress in order to ascertain the facts and circumstances of the case, the AIGP said.
