3 persons sentenced to life imprisonment for murder committed 17 years ago

Three persons namely Shem Langstang, Tharki Langstang and Hiarki Langstang are convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Lobi Chullet on June 01, 2006 in West Jaintia Hills District.

Police said on June 2, 2006 an FIR was lodged before the Officer In-charge Jowai Police Station by Barley Chullet that his brother Lobi Chullet was murdered by Shem Langstang Tharki Langstang and Hiarki Langstang on June 01, 2006 at “Ait Shrieh” of Thadsning Village.

Accordingly, a case was registered at Jowai Police Station vide Jowai PS Case No. 65(6)06 U/s 302/201/ 34 IPC. The case was taken up for investigation by SI C Lamare. After investigation, the I.O of the case filed a charge sheet against the 3(three) named accused persons U/s 302/201/34 IPC.

Police said on August 30, the Court of Sessions Judge, West Jaintia Hills, District Jowai in Sessions Case No.105 of 2013 found them guilty as charged and pronounced the sentence.
