3 sentenced to 5-yr imprisonment for sexually assaulting minor boy

Three persons were sentenced to five years imprisonment for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy eleven years ago.

Informing this on Wednesday, East Khasi Hills SP Sylvester Nongtnger said following trial in the Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, East Khasi Hills, Shillong R Rymbai convicted 3 accused persons – Mahindra Sahi @ Kalu, Asun @ Oshun Chettri and Bobby Chettri on March 17, and awarded them an imprisonment for a period of 5 years under section 377/34 IPC.

An FIR was lodged on June 11, 2011 that one 13-year-old boy was sexually assaulted by three persons.

A case was registered at Lumdiengjri police station and endorsed to Inspector MR Marak who after  investigation subsequently chargesheeted the case on July 7, 2011
