39 new COVID-19 cases detected in Meghalaya
Thirty-nine more persons have tested positive for COVID-19, taking the tally of active cases in the state up to 202 on Saturday.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the new cases include 33 in East Khasi Hills district, 3 in West Jaintia Hills district, 2 in Ri Bhoi district and 1 in South West Khasi Hills district.
He informed four patients have recovered from the viral infection of which 3 are in East Khasi Hills district and 1 in Ri Bhoi district.
So far, the state has detected a total of 14,246 COVID-19 cases out of which 202 are active cases, 13,893 recovered and 151 deaths.
East Khasi Hills has 148active cases, West Garo Hills 27, Ri Bhoi 14, West Jaintia Hills 6, East Jaintia Hills 4, West Khasi Hills 2 and South West Khasi Hills 1.
On the other hand, of the 4,19,769 persons who have tested for COVID-19 in the state as on date, 4,05,523 were tested negative for the virus even as 100 persons are in institutional quarantine and 102 under home quarantine.
There are 1,01,380 entrants from outside the state.
On the other hand, 22, 579 healthcare workers had received the first dose of Covishield vaccine and 15, 844 had received the second dose, while 33,243 frontline workers got the first shot of the vaccine and 20,813 got the second dose as on Saturday.
Moreover, 49,309 persons from among the general public were vaccinated with the first dose and 3,436 were inoculated with the second dose of the vaccine against COVID-19 across the State.
