4 Bangladeshi nationals arrested in Ri Bhoi
Four Bangladeshi nationals were arrested in Byrnihat, Ri Bhoi on Friday for illegally entering India through Sylhet zero point.
In a joint operation by G branch of BSF headquarters Shillong and Ribhoi police, four Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested who crossed border and illegally entered India through sylhet zero point, Ri Bhoi SP Jagpal Dhanoa said in a statement.
He said based on credible and actionable intelligence given by BSF special naka was set up at Byrnihat. During naka checking at around 4:30 pm today one tourist vehicle bearing registration number AS-01-GC-1071 driven by Md Ali Hussain of Dhubri district Assam was stopped and from this vehicle 4 Bangladeshi nationals were detained .
The Bangladeshi nationals have been identified as: Md Mintu (39 yrs) S/O Abdul Malik R/O Baroikhali village P.S Bakerganj, District Barishal, Bangladesh, Md Runel (31 yrs) S/O Md Aziz R/O Gupchor village, Dhaka District Narayanganj, Bangladesh, Johirul (29 yrs) S/O Kalam R/O Gupchor village, Dhaka District Narayanganj Bangladesh and Md Bilal (37yrs) S/O Noor Ahmed R/O Kamalpur P.S Kochbar District, Brahmanbaria Bangladesh.
Fake documents and three mobile phones have been seized from their possession.
Case under appropriate sections is being registered under Nongpoh PS, the SP said.
