4 dies of Covid-19 in Meghalaya, death toll at 1,552
The state on Tuesday recorded 4 moreCOVID-19 related deaths, mounting the number of fatalities to 1,552 even as 158 have tested positive for the virus taking the total active cases to 1,208.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said two deaths were reported from Ri Bhoi district and 1 each from North Garo Hills and West Jaintia Hills.
Dr War also informed of the 158 new cases, 52 were detected in East Khasi Hills, 35 West Garo Hills, 17 Ri Bhoi, 21 West Jaintia Hills, 4 Eastern West Khasi Hills, 2 South West Garo Hills, 3 South Garo Hills, 6 North Garo Hills, 4 West Khasi Hills, 8 East Garo Hills and 3 East Jaintia Hills.
He said that 285 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
So far, the state has detected a total of 92,521 COVID-19 cases out of which 1,208 are active cases, 89,761 recovered and 1,552 deaths.
East Khasi Hills has the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 463 followed by West Garo Hills 261, Ri Bhoi 127, West Jaintia Hills 97, South West Khasi Hills 50, South West Garo Hills 37, Eastern West Khasi Hills 40, North Garo Hills 31, West Khasi Hills 25, East Jaintia Hills 26, East Garo Hills 28 and South Garo Hills 23.
