46 cattle worth Rs 8 lakh rescued by BSF in West Jaintia Hills

In their ongoing efforts to curb illegal activities along the Indo-Bangladesh border, the vigilant troops of the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya successfully rescued 46 cattle worth more than Rs 8 lakh, which were intended for smuggling into Bangladesh.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the alert troops of 4th Battalion BSF Meghalaya conducted a swift operation near the International Border in the West Jaintia Hills district. During the operation, 46 cattle’s were found tied in a jungle area, strategically placed for smuggling across the border.
The seized cattle were subsequently handed over to the police station PPP Muktapur for further necessary legal action.
The BSF Meghalaya remains committed to ensuring the security of the border and preventing illegal trans-border activities. Such proactive operations underscore the force’s dedication to maintaining law and order while preventing illicit trade along the international boundary.
