4th teachers in Meghalaya demand salary enhancement
The All Meghalaya 4th Teachers Association on Thursday sought the intervention of the education minister Rakkam A Sangma for enhancing the salary of over 1521 4th teachers in the state.
President of the association Tengsrang Sangma said, “We have met the education minister today and requested him to take up with the chief minister for immediate enhancement of the salary of the 4th teachers in the state.”
He said the teachers are very disappointed with the state government as their salary is not at par with the other upper primary teachers from SSA or adhoc schools.
“We therefore demand equal pay for equal work,” he added.
According to him, the salary of the 4th teachers was last increased from Rs 12000 to Rs 18000 in 2022.
