5 bike lifters arrested in Pynursla, 2 stolen bikes recovered
Five bike thieves were arrested and recovered two R15 bikes, which were stolen from Sunny Hills and 3rd Mile Upper Shillong on Tuesday morning.
The night patrols were alerted and set up naka in many places. The bike stolen from 4th Mile was abandoned at Sangmein while the other bike was intercepted by the naka party Pynursla.
One of the bike thieves escaped after trying to jump the naka while one Nironton Tangsong (24) of Mawryngkang was caught.
Special Cell East Khasi Hills in a follow up, arrested four others namely, Pius Talang(19) from Pyrdiwah, Lovingstar Surong(18) from Pynursla, Balajied Mawiong(19) from Sohlong,Pynursla and Banpynskhem Mukhim(19) from Pynursla.
The gang has been involved in many bike lifting cases and will be forwarded to court tomorrow, district police chief Vivek Syiem said.
