5 IEDs recovered by army in Manipur
In a significant operation, the Indian Army and Manipur Police recovered five Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) weighing approximately 21.5 kg from multiple locations in Imphal East district on Tuesday evening.
“Acting on specific intelligence regarding the presence of explosives in the Maphitel Ridge area of Imphal East, the Indian Army, in coordination with Manipur Police, launched a search operation and recovered five IEDs,” said Defence spokesperson Lt. Col. Amit Shukla.
The operation was bolstered by the expertise of Eva, the Army’s explosive detection dog, and a dedicated Bomb Disposal Squad. Their joint efforts were instrumental in locating and safely recovering the explosives, averting a potentially major threat.
“This critical detection and recovery prevented a significant threat,” Shukla added. “The operation highlights the seamless synergy between the forces and marks a significant achievement in maintaining security.”
