5 new COVID-19 cases, 22 recoveries in Meghalaya
The state has recorded 5 new COVID-19 cases and 22 recoveries on Friday, Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said.
Dr War informed that all the five cases detected from East Khasi Hills district and the patients who recovered from the viral infection are also from the same district.
So far, the state has detected a total of 13,946 COVID-19 cases out of which 38 are active cases, 13,765 recovered and 148 deaths.
East Khasi Hills has 24 active cases, West Jaintia Hills 10, East Jaintia Hills 2 and West Khasi Hills 2.
On the other hand, of the 3,58,903 persons who have tested for COVID-19 in the state as on date, 3,44,952 were tested negative for the virus even as 5 persons are in institutional quarantine and 33 under home quarantine.
There are 92,038 entrants from outside the state.
