56 recruits constables took the solemn vow as they passed out from Meghalaya Police Training School
A total of 56 newly trained Meghalaya Police personnel took the solemn vow over the Tri Colour to serve the people and the Nation with the utmost sense of dedication and sincerity during the discharge of duties and responsibilities on Friday morning in the picturesque view of the Meghalaya Police Training School.
Located at Umran Village under Ri Bhoi District, the 56 police personnel comprised of 10 (ten) Women police and 46 (forty-six) Men of Unarmed Branch Constable of the 41st Batch passed out from the Police Training School.
The 56 police personnel in the rank of constables successfully 11 long months of comprehensive training on both Outdoor and Indoor subjects, They were trained on wide range of topics involving techniques and skill, physical training, handling of tactical weapons and handling of Law and Order situation; the indoor curriculum included subjects like Major Acts, Minor Acts, APM and imparting of training on Gender Sensitization, Human Rights, and Community Policing.
The Attestation Parade was reviewed by H. Nongpluh, IPS Additional Director General of Police (SB/CID), Meghalaya, Shillong as the Chief Guest in the presence of Gnora Mary Sangma IPS, Principal Meghalaya Police Training School and other senior Police Officers and Dignitaries.
Congratulating the new inductees and appreciating their brilliant drill display, Nongpluh exhorted the Recruit Constables to give their best effort while performing their duties and to protect the system besides emphasizing on the uniformity of the disciplined forced. He impressed upon all members, the sense of responsibility and authority that each of the uniformed police official carries.
The Additional Director General of Police said that Police is probably the only service in the world which calls for supreme sacrifice, thus there is a need to maintain discipline of the highest order. “In a fast-paced world, the need to adapt to changes is important and that Basic Training is only an initial platform which provides conditioning to the requirement of policing,” he underlined.
Nongpluh mentioned that though this is the 41st Passing Out Parade (POP) but yet it is a part of history as this is the transition batch from Police Training School to Meghalaya Police Academy.
The Parade ended with a beautiful peeling off synchronised and coordinated with impeccable band display from 1st MLP Battalion, Mawiong.
