  • 7 new COVID-19 cases, 4 recover in Meghalaya

    The state has recorded 7 new COVID-19 cases while 4 patients have recovered from the viral infection on Tuesday.

    Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the new cases included 6 in West Jaintia Hills district and 1 in Ri Bhoi district.

    He said the recovered patients include 2 from East Khasi Hills district, 1 West Jaintia Hills district and 1 West Khasi Hills district.

    So far, the state has detected a total of 13,893 COVID-19 cases out of which 137 are active cases, 13,608 recovered and 148 deaths.

    East Khasi Hills has 87 active cases, Ri Bhoi 23, West Jaintia Hills 21, West Khasi Hills 3, East Jaintia Hills 2 and West Garo Hills 1.

    On the other hand, of the 3,47,510 persons who have tested for COVID-19 in the state as on date, 3,33,617 were tested negative for the virus even as 37 persons are in institutional quarantine and 100 under home quarantine.

    There are 90,359 entrants from outside the state.
