81 cattle heads recovered from Bangla border; seizure includes FICN, narcotics
In its drive against trans-border crimes and narcotics trafficking, troops under Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force (BSF) seized 81 cattle heads meant for smuggling to Bangladesh from the Coochbehar district of West Bengal on Saturday.
The troops also seized FICN, narcotic, prohibited cough syrup, and contraband meant for smuggling on the Indo-Bangladesh international border.
“Based on reliable input, a special joint search operation was launched by the troops of 31 BN along with Assam Police in bordering village – Kedar Part-III in Dhubri district and seized Fake Indian currency Notes (FICN) having face value of Rs 20,000 and narcotics substances on Indo-Bangladesh International border yesterday,” a BSF official said.
In another operation, the troops of 19,14, 49 & Adhoc G-10 BN seized contrabands worth Rs 4.35 lakh and rescued 81 cattle heads meant for smuggling to Bangladesh from the bordering area of Coochbehar district in West Bengal along the international border, he added.
