87 new COVID-19 cases detected, 10 recoveries in Meghalaya
Eighty-seven more persons have tested positive for COVID-19, taking the tally of active cases in the state up to 270 on Tuesday.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the new cases include 78 in East Khasi Hills district, 4 in Ri Bhoi district, 3 in West Jaintia Hills district and 1 each in East Jaintia Hills district and West Khasi Hills district.
He informed 10 patients have also recovered from the viral infection of which 7 are from East Khasi Hills and 1 each from East Jaintia Hills, Ri Bhoi and West Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 14,387 COVID-19 cases out of which 270 are active cases, 13,966 recovered and 151 deaths.
East Khasi Hills has 215 active cases, West Jaintia Hills 27, Ri Bhoi 17, West Garo Hills 5, East Jaintia Hills 4, West Khasi Hills 1 and South West Khasi Hills 1.
On the other hand, of the 4,24,940 persons who have tested for COVID-19 in the state as on date, 4,10,553 were tested negative for the virus even as 78 persons are in institutional quarantine and 192 under home quarantine.
There are 1,02,957 entrants from outside the state.
On the other hand, 22, 673 healthcare workers had received the first dose of Covishield vaccine and 16,238 had received the second dose, while 33,540 frontline workers got the first shot of the vaccine and 21,511 got the second dose as on Tuesday.
Moreover, 58,099 persons from among the general public were vaccinated with the first dose and 4,464 were inoculated with the second dose of the vaccine against COVID-19 across the State.
