95 new COVID-19 cases detected in Meghalaya
SHILLONG, APR 17: Ninety-five more persons have tested positive for COVID-19, taking the tally of active cases in the state up to 649 on Saturday.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the new cases include 50 in East Khasi Hills district, 16 in West Jaintia Hills district, 11 West Khasi Hills district, 10 in Ri Bhoi district, 6 in East Jaintia Hills district and 1 each in South West Khasi Hills district and West Garo Hills district.
He informed 11 patients have also recovered from the viral infection of which 7 are from East Khasi Hills, 2 from Ri Bhoi and 1 each from East Jaintia Hills and West Jaintia Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 14,798 COVID-19 cases out of which 649 are active cases, 13,997 recovered and 152 deaths.
East Khasi Hills has 475 active cases, West Jaintia Hills 97, Ri Bhoi 33, East Jaintia Hills 16, West Garo Hills 8, West Khasi Hills 15, South West Khasi Hills 4 and North Garo Hills 1.
