Aadhaar enrolment for Heads of Family
The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills has informed that the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and the State Government as highlighted in the National Food Security Act, 2013, Reforms in Targeted Public Distribution System Chapter V Section 12 (2) (c), relies on the use of Aadhaar to uniquely identify beneficiaries. As our state is heading towards the installation of ePoS Devices in all the Fair Price Shops, it is therefore mandatory for all the Heads of Family of NFSA households (both AAY and PHH) to get themselves enrolled with Aadhaar for transparency and smooth implementation of “One Nation One Ration Card” System.
In view of the urgency of the matter, it is hereby informed to all the head of family who possessed AAY or PHH Card within East Khasi Hills District that the Aadhaar Enrolment Centres are functioning either in the office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong or any Offices of the Block Development Officers within East Khasi Hills District. Timing, scheduled for Aadhaar Enrolment will be only during office working hours.
In the process of Aadhaar enrolment, due to the outbreak of COVID-19, precautions/advisories issued by the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Meghalaya from time to time should be strictly adhered and complied with.
