ABSU set for Amit Shah’s visit, hopes high for BTR Developments

The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) is set to welcome Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Dotma Bodofa Field in Kokrajhar on Sunday. With preparations in the final stages, security arrangements have been tightened to accommodate the massive turnout expected at the event. Over 2 lakh attendees from various districts of Assam and West Bengal are anticipated.
Ahead of the event, ABSU hosted a get-together of former leaders, officially welcoming ex-members who played a role in shaping the organization’s journey. Addressing the media, ABSU President Dipen Boro confirmed that all arrangements were nearing completion and expressed excitement about receiving Home Minister Shah and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Boro also highlighted the ST Hills status demand for the Bodo community, emphasizing that it remains a crucial aspect of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Accord. He expressed optimism that Shah’s visit could bring positive updates on this front.
Additionally, Boro hinted that the event could mark his farewell from ABSU after 20 years of service. However, he reassured that his commitment to the Bodo community would continue beyond his tenure in the organization.
Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker also voiced hope that Shah’s visit would bring significant announcements for Assam and the BTR region, reinforcing the government’s commitment to the region’s growth and stability.
