AHAM filed FIR against DC for failure to address environmental issues
The Achik Holistic Awakening Movement (AHAM) Central Body on Wednesday sought legal action against Executive Engineer Urban Affairs West Garo Hills Tura and Deputy Commissioner West Garo Hills for their failure to address environmental issues in the District.
In a FIR lodged with the Officer in Charge, Tura Police Station, the AHAM President called for fair and bias less action and without any favoritism which is barred and regarded as offences within the Indian law in itself.
It is known fact that these two dignitaries has being bestowed with immense responsibilities and powers, few of which is to keep the town/localities dean , save and protect environment, to perform/discharge their entrusted duties without fail and biasness , to be fair with all their subjects within their jurisdiction with no partial treatment.
The AHAM President said Tura town is at the verge of becoming dumping ground and creating pollution thus affecting the health of our innocent public which directly also violates Article 21 of our constitution as it can be seen with their naked eyes in every corner of the Town specially in and around bazar areas which surprisingly is not so far from the office of the Deputy Commissioner itself which is a matter of fact and concerned which also violates our environmental law.
Article 14 of the Indian Constitution provides for “Equality before law and Equal treatment before Law” which denotes that “NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW” regardless of who they are or what they are, hence, with confident and expectation from your authorities, this FIR being lodged.
“In my final submission to your highly respected table, I would like to prayed that fair investigation and interrogation be initiated against the aforesaid mentioned culprits like any other normal citizen of our country as permit by our Indian Constitution and stern action be taken against these culprits and book them under appropriates section of laws and Acts, ” the FIR read.
