Airtel boosts network at Barsapara Stadium to ensure seamless connectivity for IPL fans

As the excitement builds for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) matches, Bharti Airtel has significantly upgraded its network infrastructure at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. With an anticipated crowd of nearly 100,000 cricket enthusiasts, the telecom giant has taken proactive measures to ensure uninterrupted connectivity for fans attending the matches.
Airtel has strengthened all existing cell sites, deployed an additional tower near the stadium, and installed a Cell On Wheels (COW) unit in the vicinity. These enhancements are designed to improve both voice and data connectivity, ensuring a seamless digital experience for spectators.
Rabi Shankar Mishra, CEO – Assam and Northeast, Bharti Airtel, highlighted the company’s commitment to providing superior network performance during the IPL season: “Anticipating the massive turnout for the upcoming IPL tournament, we have reinforced the network infrastructure at Barsapara Stadium. This initiative ensures our customers stay seamlessly connected, allowing them to share their excitement with loved ones while enjoying the live-action.”
Beyond the stadium, Airtel has optimized its network across Guwahati to enhance coverage in key locations, including Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, railway stations, Maa Kamakhya Temple, Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden, Navagraha Temple and Guwahati Planetarium.
These efforts aim to provide a seamless digital experience to both residents and visitors during the IPL season.
In addition to Guwahati, Airtel has expanded its network capabilities at all IPL venues across the country. These upgrades will ensure that cricket fans nationwide experience uninterrupted connectivity from March to May 2025.
