Akashvani Jowai ends ‘Gift a Radio Campaign’

Akashvani Jowai, along with other Akashvani stations in the North East region, will conclude the month-long “Gift a Radio Campaign” on 31st July 2024. This campaign celebrated the opening of several radio stations in the North East, including Shillong and Guwahati, which were established on 1st July 1948.

During the campaign, notable personalities and individuals from various walks of life shared their thoughts on the radio, their experiences, the joy it brings to their lives, and its crucial role as a communication medium and community asset. They encouraged people to gift a radio set to their loved ones on special occasions or celebrations.

As part of the campaign, the officers and staff of Akashvani Jowai visited and gifted a radio set to an organization in the district, emphasizing the importance of radio as a medium of information, education, and entertainment.
