Anuradha Roy from Assam to represent India at Miss India Worldwide in New York
Assam’s Anuradha Roy is all set to showcase her talent on an international stage as she prepares to participate in the prestigious Miss India Worldwide Pageant in New York this September.
The 27-year-old recently made headlines by winning the inaugural Miss India Poland 2024 title, organized by the India Poland Women’s Federation and Razvi Events for Indian residents in Poland. Anuradha also bagged the Miss Photogenic title at the same event, held in Warsaw, emerging victorious from among 400 contestants during the screening phase, with 16 finalists competing for the crown.
Hailing from Guwahati, Anuradha’s journey has been shaped by her passion for dance, music, and pageantry. A Visharad in Bharatnatyam, she actively participated in beauty events and competitions during her school years, earning several accolades.
In a press conference at the Guwahati Press Club, Anuradha expressed her desire to bring Assam’s rich culture, including the traditional Mekhela Sador, and its scenic beauty to a global audience. “I want to establish Assam’s proud culture and tourism on an international platform,” she said.
Despite living and working abroad, Anuradha cherishes her connection to Assam. “I love spending my leisure time in Assam with my family and friends. It’s a beautiful state, and I want to do my part to promote its culture and tourism worldwide,” she added.
Anuradha completed her schooling at Khanapara Kendriya Vidyalaya and Army Public School, Narangi, before earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Delhi. She holds Master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology and Criminology.
