ANVC-B accuses govt of failing to honour Agreed Text of Settlement
The disbanded Achik National Volunteers’ Council – Breakaway (ANVC-B) has accused the NPP-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government of cheating due to its alleged failure to honour the Agreed Text of Settlement.
Former ANVC-B general secretary, Deepan G Momin in a statement said the state government has totally ignored the agreement of the ANVC groups which was signed in the presence of Rajnath Singh and Kiren Rijiju in Delhi on September 24, 2014.
“After 6 years the state government has not cleared the rehabilitation packages and the Agreed Text of Settlement has not been implemented as per the agreement,” Momin said.
Stating that the Boro Accord has gone forward by the initiation of the BJP government in Assam, he however lamented that the Garo agreement has been delayed due to the negligence of NPP government in Meghalaya.
The former leaders and cadres of the disbanded outfit further demanded the state government to immediately call for a meeting to review the implementation of the Agreed Text of Settlement.
“We want the government to hold an immediate meeting to review the implementation of the Agreed Text of Settlement because the government has cheated us in the last 6 years,” Momin said.
