AOPE threatens protest over MeECL’s indifferent attitude towards diploma cadre

The Association of Power Engineers (AOPE) has threatened to resort to agitation if the management of the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL) fails to address the issue related to the diploma cadre.

In a letter to the MeECL chairman cum managing director (CMD), secretary of the AOPE Wonderful Pakyntein said that association in its executive committee meeting on November 27, conveyed its resentment and lackadaisical attitude of the management towards the members of the Diploma cadre.

“The EC discussed in details the delay in issuing promotion and placement order for Junior Engineer and Assistant Engineer and resolved to urge upon the management to issue necessary orders before the 10^th December 2024, failing which the members of the Association shall resort to agitation on December 11 and 13 by wearing black flag and demonstration during lunch hour,” he stated in the letter.
