Appeal to devotees to avoid visiting other puja pandals

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic during the Durga Puja’s festival, the District Administration West Jaintia Hills District on Thursday appealed to the devotees to avoid visiting other Puja Pandals.

This is according to the permission granted by the Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills to the Secretary Sarbajann Durga Puja Committee, Jowai for celebrating Durga Puja festival from the 11th October 2021 to 15th October 2021 at Shiv Mandir Premises, Jowai.

However, the Deputy Commissioner has directed all devotees to maintain the Standard Operating Procedures as per Government order and to avoid visiting other Puja Pandals.

Similarly, Sub Divisional Officer (Civil), Amlarem Sub Division has granted permission to the Secretary Sarbamangala Kali Mandir Durga Puja Committee 2021, Dawki to performed the Durga Puja Festivals from 11th October 2021 to 15th October 2021. Laxmi Puja on the 20th October 2021 and Kali Puja on the 4th November 2021 at Sarbamangala Kali Mandir premises, Dawki subject to compliance and strictly maintain Standard Operation Procedure as per order issued by the Political Department, Government of Meghalaya. 

The order said that as per the order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India with regards to the use of P.A System should be strictly adhered to by the organizers. The use of loud Speakers beyond 10.00 PM is prohibited.

No bursting of crackers or any fireworks is allowed in public places, paths and roads.

There should be no selling of liquor or intoxicating drinks in and around the area during Durga Puja day.

The Executive Magistrate and Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Amlarem should monitor all arrangements made in compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures mentioned above.

Any violation of the Standard Operating Procedures will be viewed seriously.

In addition SOP and other Protocols already put in place or being put in place by the Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India which be strictly complied with.
