Arunachal Dy CM Chowna Mein inaugurates key projects to boost tourism & connectivity in Lohit
Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein inaugurated a series of crucial infrastructure projects in Lohit district, aimed at improving connectivity, promoting tourism, and preserving the region’s cultural heritage. The inaugurations coincided with the commencement of the Parshuram Kund Mela 2025, underscoring the state’s efforts to enhance the visitor experience and bolster the local economy.
Mein inaugurated a newly constructed guest house and Tulow Resort at Parshuram Kund, a revered pilgrimage destination attracting thousands of visitors annually. The facilities promise to provide modern yet culturally aligned accommodations, enhancing the spiritual and tourism experience while supporting the region’s growing hospitality sector.
The inauguration of the Glaw Lake Road and a steel bridge at Sena Brai significantly improves access to Glaw Lake, a picturesque trekking destination for adventure enthusiasts. This development ensures better connectivity to the scenic spot while preserving the natural beauty of the region.
During his visit to Kamlang Tiger Reserve, Mein was briefed on a proposal to list the reserve as a Ramsar Site, emphasizing the government’s commitment to conserving Arunachal Pradesh’s biodiversity and natural heritage.
Mein also inaugurated the newly built Wakro Police Station, pledging to enhance manpower and equip the station with the necessary resources for efficient law enforcement.
Speaking to the media, Mein highlighted ongoing efforts to transform Parshuram Kund into a premier pilgrimage site with modern amenities for pilgrims. He also reiterated the government’s focus on developing Glaw Lake as a major trekking destination while safeguarding the region’s rich flora and fauna.
“The goal is to strike a balance between development and environmental preservation, ensuring adventure tourism thrives alongside the protection of wildlife and natural vegetation,” Mein stated.
Accompanying him during the inauguration were Member of Parliament Tapir Gao, Dr. Mohesh Chai, Advisor to the Minister of Health & Family Welfare and Commerce & Industries, ZPC Lohit Dasula Krisikro, Deputy Commissioner K.N. Damo, SP Thutan Jamba, CE (PWD) Winam Manpoong, and other dignitaries.
These strategic developments are expected to significantly enhance Lohit’s tourism potential, ensure better public safety, and support environmental conservation efforts.
