Arunachal Dy CM inaugurates 4th edition of Arunachal Yuva Samanvay in Aalo
Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein inaugurated the 4th edition of Arunachal Yuva Samanvay at Kombo Jirdin Village near Aalo on Tuesday. The flagship event, themed ‘Youth for Satat Vikas’, celebrates the state’s youth and cultural diversity while providing a platform for engagement, learning, and empowerment.
Representing all 26 major tribes of Arunachal Pradesh, the event blends traditional heritage with modern aspirations to promote national integrity and cultural pride. In his address, Mein emphasized the crucial role of youth in shaping the state’s future.
“Arunachal Pradesh is blessed with immense talent and a rich cultural heritage. Our youth are the future leaders, innovators, artists, and entrepreneurs. We must nurture their potential to achieve a Viksit Arunachal,” Mein said.
This year’s event features 750 participants, engaging in cultural performances, exhibitions, and intellectual discussions, highlighting the vibrant cultural fabric and talent of the state’s youth.
Mein reiterated that 2024-25 has been declared the ‘Year of Youth’ by the government, channelling young people’s energy toward Assam’s growth. He outlined key initiatives, including Arunachal Pradesh Scholarship for Academic Excellence, Youth Desks in Kolkata, Guwahati, and Delhi, annual Rozgaar Mela in various districts, youth Parliaments and leadership training programs and infrastructure development for sports, including a 25,000+ capacity FIFA-standard football stadium in Itanagar.
Commending the Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, Mein acknowledged their efforts in successfully organizing the event’s four editions, improving each year.
Minister of Sports & Youth Affairs, Kento Jini, highlighted that hosting the event in Kombo Jirdin allows youth to explore rural life and local Galo tribal culture. He urged youth to abstain from substance abuse, with the event banning alcohol and tobacco on the premises.
As part of the event, Mein also inaugurated a Double Court Badminton Hall at Hisam Colony, Aalo, built on land donated by Gamde Ete Gamlin. He further assured ₹2 crore in funding for a gallery and additional court at Taken Riba DBA Indoor Badminton Stadium, Aalo.
The event saw participation from MLAs Topin Ete and Nyabi Jini Dirchi, Former Minister Doi Ado, Sports & Youth Affairs Secretary Abu Tayeng, DC West Siang Hage Mamu, Director (Youth Affairs) Ramesh Linggi, heads of departments, public leaders, and community members.
