In a move to ensure people-centric policymaking, the Arunachal Pradesh government, under Chief Minister Pema Khandu, held a pre-budget consultative meeting with community-based organizations (CBOs) ahead of the 2025-26 annual budget.
The session, convened by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Chowna Mein at his Secretariat Office on Friday, aimed to integrate grassroots perspectives into the budget formulation process.
Expressing gratitude to CBO representatives for their active participation, Mein emphasized that their input are crucial in shaping policies that directly impact local communities. He highlighted the government’s commitment to inclusive development, ensuring that no one is left behind and acknowledging CBOs as an integral part of ‘Team Arunachal’.
“We are dedicated to making sure that development reaches the grassroots level, and your contributions are instrumental in achieving this goal,” Mein stated, assuring that the suggestions provided by the CBOs will be carefully considered for inclusion in the final budget.
The consultative meeting saw participation from 18 CBO representatives, alongside key officials including Advisor to DCM Anupam Tangu, Secretary of Planning & Investment R.K. Sharma, Director of Planning & Investment Pallab Dey, and other senior officers from the Planning & Investment Department.
