Assam Governor hails Dima Hasao as a beacon of harmony, gifts radio sets & megaphones to boost community engagement
Wrapping up his two-day visit to Dima Hasao, Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Friday handed over radio sets and megaphones to Dima Hasao Autonomous Council (DHAC) Chief Executive Member Debolal Gorlosa under the “Governor Assam Amrit Sarovar Sadbhavna Sangat Protsahan Yojana.”
The initiative aims to turn Amrit Sarovars into hubs of public participation, fostering greater community involvement in nation-building efforts.
During his visit, the Governor engaged with representatives from social, spiritual, and political organizations, including ISKCON, Prajapita Brahmakumari, and Ramakrishna Mission. He urged them to contribute to societal well-being, emphasizing that life is an opportunity to bring happiness to others and that collective efforts can drive meaningful social progress.
Praising Dima Hasao’s breathtaking landscapes and cultural richness, Governor Acharya hailed the district as a model of inclusivity and mutual respect. He lauded the peaceful coexistence of diverse communities and highlighted how festivals and traditions in the district serve as powerful forces for unity, cultural pride, and progressive thought.

Reflecting on Assam’s spiritual heritage, he noted that the state’s traditions offer profound solutions to life’s complexities. He also visited Sibarai Hading Shiv Temple in Boro Haflong, offering prayers for the prosperity and happiness of Assam’s people and planting a sapling within the temple premises as a symbol of growth and sustainability.
The visit concluded with a dazzling cultural performance by local artists, showcasing Dima Hasao’s vibrant traditions and artistic heritage.
