Assam Governor honours women achievers at FICCI FLO Awards 2025

Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya graced the Annual Women Achievers’ Award 2025 ceremony, organized by the Northeast Women’s Organization of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) at a city hotel on Monday. The event celebrated the remarkable achievements of women across various fields, emphasizing their vital role in shaping society.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Acharya extended his best wishes to all the women associated with FICCI and lauded their contributions to social and economic development. He underscored the importance of women’s empowerment in achieving India’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and highlighted the exceptional talent emerging from the Northeast region. He cited inspiring figures such as Olympic medalist Lovlina Borgohain, legendary boxer Mary Kom, sprinter Hima Das, and conservationist “Hargila Baideu” Purnima Devi Barman as shining examples of women excelling in their respective domains.
The Governor also acknowledged the initiatives taken by the Central and State governments to promote women entrepreneurs. He recognized the significant role played by women in the economic landscape, noting that India is home to over eight million women entrepreneurs who are driving the nation’s progress.
The FLO Women Achievers’ Award 2025 honoured several distinguished women for their outstanding contributions:

- Baryl Vanneihsangi (Mizoram): The youngest MLA in Mizoram, recognized for her remarkable political achievements.
- Mangka Mayanglambam (Manipur): A renowned folk singer awarded for her dedication to preserving cultural heritage.
- Moirangthem Muktamani Devi (Manipur): A celebrated entrepreneur known for her business success.
- Minakshi Chetia (Assam): Recognized for her impactful social work under the ASHA program.
- Meenakshi Das (Assam): Honoured for her inspiring achievements as a biker, breaking gender barriers in sports.

In addition, the FLO Trailblazer Awards 2025 celebrated women who have excelled in their respective fields:
- Nilakshi R. Sarma: Awarded for excellence in content creation.
- Payal Aggarwal Jain: Recognized as a visionary entrepreneur.
- Abhishruti Bezbaruah: Honored as a cultural icon.
- Barsha Rani: Awarded the title of Pride of Assam for her contributions.
- Lovlina Borgohain: Recognized for her outstanding accomplishments in sports.

Encouraging Women’s Leadership and Entrepreneurship
Governor Acharya congratulated all the award winners and encouraged them to continue driving positive change in society. He emphasized that women’s participation in key sectors such as management, environmental conservation, and social development is crucial for the nation’s growth.
