Assam honours excellence: Governor confers highest state civilian awards 2024

Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya conferred the Highest State Civilian Awards 2024 at a grand ceremony held at the Srimanta Sankardev International Auditorium in Guwahati. The event, attended by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, celebrated outstanding contributions across various fields, from defence and science to arts, sports, and social work.
Top honour: Assam Baibhav
The state’s highest civilian award, Assam Baibhav, was conferred upon Lt. Gen. Rana Pratap Kalita (Retd.) in recognition of his distinguished service.
Assam Saurabh Awardees
The Assam Saurabh, the second-highest honor, was awarded to six individuals for their contributions in various domains:
