Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday assured to work together with the government of Meghalaya for addressing the issue of pollution at Byrnihat.
“Byrnihat as you know belongs to both Assam and Meghalaya and obviously, we have shared responsibilities. I will work with the government of Meghalaya to see that the pollution level comes down,” Sarma told reporters after addressing the passing out parade held at North Eastern Police Academy (NEPA).
On March 13, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma had assured the Assembly that a joint action plan by Meghalaya and Assam will be developed to address the issue of air quality at Byrnihat.
