Assam showcases energy investment potential at India Energy Week 2025, calls investors to Advantage Assam 2.0

Team Assam made a strong pitch to global investors at a special session during India Energy Week 2025 in New Delhi, urging them to explore the state’s vast investment opportunities in the hydrocarbon and allied sectors.

Led by Assam Petro-Chemicals Ltd. (APL) chairman Bikul Ch. Deka, the delegation extended a clarion call from Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, inviting investors to attend Advantage Assam 2.0 – Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025, scheduled for February 25-26 in Guwahati.

The Assam Session, held at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, saw participation from over 150 business leaders, investors, and media representatives from across the globe. High-ranking officials, including Sachiv Kumar, Additional Director General, Directorate of Hydrocarbon, and senior representatives from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, also graced the event.

Prominent industry leaders presented insights into Assam’s rapidly growing energy and petrochemical sector, including Bhaskar Jyoti Phukan, MD, Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL); Pranjal Changmai, MD, Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL); Gokul Chandra Swargiyari, MD, Assam Gas Company Limited (AGCL);  Ranjan Goswami, Executive Director (Business Development), Oil India Limited (OIL); Subrata Das, CEO, Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited (IGGL) and Sazzad Alam, Joint Secretary, delivered a detailed investment roadmap on behalf of the Government of Assam.

Speakers at the session highlighted Assam’s lucrative opportunities in petrochemicals & downstream industries (methanol & formalin-based sectors), exploration, drilling & gas extraction, refinery auxiliaries & gas processing and the Northeast Gas Grid & gas cracker industry.

With Advantage Assam 2.0 set to take place in Guwahati later this month, the Assam government is positioning the state as a premier investment destination for energy and infrastructure. The event serves as a strategic platform for global investors, enabling direct engagement with industry leaders and policymakers, unlocking new opportunities for economic and industrial expansion in Assam.
