The Shiksha Setu Axom app was awarded the ‘Gold Award’ for excellence in e-governance by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances. This recognition highlights the app’s significant contribution to enhancing governance through digital transformation, particularly in the educational sector under the Samagra Shiksha Assam (SSA)initiative.
Om Prakash, Mission Director, and Sanjoy Dutta, Executive Director of Samagra Shiksha Assam, received the prestigious award at the National Conference on e-Governance 2024. The award ceremony, organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, took place at the JIO World Convention Centre in Mumbai on Tuesday.
The Shiksha Setu Axom app’s innovative use of technology for real-time monitoring and attendance management is setting a new benchmark in educational governance. By integrating these advanced features, the app not only enhances the efficiency of administrative processes but also significantly contributes to improving educational outcomes.
In the ceremony, 9 Gold awards, 6 Silver awards and 1 Jury award were presented in the e-Governance sector.
‘Shiksha Setu Axom’ project has revolutionized the state’s educational landscape by making learning more accessible and accountable. The app, used by 4.9 million users including students, teachers, and support staff, leverages AI-based technology to capture real-time, geo-fenced attendance.
This system records both individual and group attendance, effectively eliminating issues like proxy attendance and ghost students while ensuring timely teacher attendance. Additionally, it monitors prolonged student absences, predicts potential dropouts, and helps in re-engaging students.
By introducing the Shiksha Setu app, Samagra Shiksha Assam (SSA) has established a robust platform for real-time monitoring and tailored interventions, ultimately aiming to enhance the quality of education and overall well-being for everyone involved in the state’s educational system.
