Assembly deputy speaker expunges Momin’s statement

Assembly deputy speaker Timothy D Shira on Tuesday expunged a statement made by NPP MLA from Kharkutta Rupert G Momin during the general discussion on the budget. 

This came after former chief minister Mukul Sangma objected the statement made by Momin that he was ‘disturbed from the other side’.

Mukul had raised a point of order when Momin was participating during the budget discussion. “I have never heard members referring to point of order as disturbance,” he said while demanding the statement to be expunged. 

Accordingly, the deputy speaker announced his decision to expunge the statement ‘disturbed from the other side’ by Momin from the House proceedings
